Commissioned into the Indian Air Force in June 1968 in the fighter stream, Air Marshal Bhushan Gokhale has flown over 3,500 hours on a variety of combat and trainer aircraft. He has seen active operations during the 1971 India-Pakistan hostilities. As Assistant Chief of Air Staff for Operations, Air Marshal Gokhale had played an important role in planning and execution of air operations, including during Operation Parakram. He was Vice Chief of the Air Staff at Air Headquarters. After retirement Air Marshal Bhushan Gokhale is appointed as Consultant to the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India and Consultant, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). He is member of Union Public Service Commission. He is past student of MES Bal Shikshan Mandir, Bhandarkar Road, and MES Sau. Vimlabai Garware High School, Pune.
